The English Library was opened on 1 Feb 2002.
The English Library, together with the Austrian and German Goethe Institute Libraries, is part of the Foreign Libraries Department of the Education and Research Library of the Pilsener Region. The English Library is the successor of the British Council which used to operate in Pilsen. The library is an independent workstation of the Education and Research Library of the Pilsener Region and has its seat in so-called Europa House, Náměstí republiky 12. It is possible to search the entire English Library book collection via the online electronic catalogue and all services are according to the SVK PK Library Regulations. Library membership cards are applied for and issued in the entrance hall of the SVK PK building, Smetanovy sady 2, Mon-Fri: 8.00am-7.00pm.
